Custom
made polyclonal antibody
In this
service the required immunogen should be supplied
by the scientist in a ready to inject format.
Typically this may be a conjugated peptide, fusion
protein, whole protein, or a bacterial cell lysate.
Genei will do the immunization and bleeding as per
the schedule mentioned.
About 1 -
2 mg of the immunogen may be sent lyophilized or
in frozen form.
We have
documented greater than 90% success rate using the
protocol. If the antibody is developed in more
number of rabbits, the scientist will have an
option to compare and select best available
antibody. A copy of the immunization and bleeding
schedule will be sent to the scientist for their
reference on receiving the immunogen with
confirmed order. To consider any changes in the
protocol, the request should be made with the
order. At the end of the service the scientist
will get about 25 ml of antiserum from two bulk
bleeds.

Continuation
of immunization and bleeding in 1 rabbit for 2
months
If the
scientist requires more amount of antibody from
the already immunized rabbit boosting and bleeding
may be continued in two monthly basis and
additional 25 ml of antibody (immunized serum) may
be provided. If required, the immunogen should be
supplied by the scientist.
Preparation
of hapten/peptide immunogen.
Small
molecules, such as peptides and haptens that are
not immunogenic need to be coupled to carrier
proteins like BSA or KLH to make it immunogenic.
We need about 15 to 20 mg of peptide for coupling
to either of the carrier protein. For haptens,
please enquire before placing the order. |
