Monodon Baculo Virus (MBV) has been linked with high mortality in late post larvae and juvenile shrimp cultures. MBV infection significantly reduces crop value and performance. Also MBV infected shrimps have a predisposition to infection by other pathogens like WSSV and a corresponding high mortality rates. Conventional diagnosis fails to detect early stages of infection. Genei's MBV detection kit, based on nested PCR assay is a sensitive and specific diagnostic tool that can detect upto 2 copies of virus. The high sensitivity of MBV detection kit enables detection of infection even in carriers.
